After nearly three months, my forged .40 over 9:1 compression pistons arrived on my doorstep. We are in the last leg of the engine rebuild now. Assembly, balancing and paint.
I plan to paint the engine and head "Cummins Beige." Why? Because the hi-temp paint is readily available, custom high temp paint is a pain to have made, and I want a color that helps with detecting leaks. Also, the Cummins Beige is a semi-gloss which will make it less porous. This means that cleaning up spilled oil and accumulated dirt should be easier.
My valve cover, intake manifold, and throttle body are at the powder coaters getting a mildly textured matte black applied. More to come!
